Log practice and track progress

The Practice tab is where your child’s practice gets logged and turned into something motivating to look at — a streak, a weekly goal and the odd celebration. Logging a session takes just a couple of taps.

Where it lives

In the parent portal, open Practice from the navigation (it sits between Schedule and Invoices). On a phone it’s tucked inside the More menu.

Log a practice session

Logging is deliberately quick. Under Log today’s practice:

  1. Pick how long — tap one of the duration buttons (15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes).
  2. Tag what they practised (optional) — if your teacher has set assignments, a “What are they practising?” picker appears: choose one of them, or leave it on Free practice.
  3. Add a note (optional) — what they worked on, or how it went.
  4. Log it — that’s it. The session is saved against today (with the assignment shown on it if you tagged one).

If you have more than one child in the studio, choose which child you’re logging for at the top of the page. When your teacher has set practice assignments, they appear under What to practise at the top of the tab, so you always know what to focus on.

Good to know Further down the page you'll also see What you're working on — the pieces your teacher has set, with how far along each one is — and any items on loan to you from the studio. These are there to look at; they update as your teacher and your practice move things along.

Streaks, goals and milestones

Every session you log builds the bigger picture:

  • Current streak — your run of practice days. It’s forgiving: a single missed day is bridged so one off day won’t reset everything, but two in a row will.
  • Longest streak — your best run so far, there to beat.
  • This week — a ring that fills as the week’s practice adds up towards the goal, so you can see at a glance how close you are. There’s also a Practice over time chart of recent weeks.
  • Achievements — badges you collect as you go, with a grade ladder showing what you’re working towards.
  • Milestones — little celebrations the moment you reach a notable streak or earn a badge, to keep the encouragement coming.

These update the moment you log, so the reward is immediate — which is exactly what helps a practice habit stick.
