Card payments let parents pay their invoices online — by debit or credit card, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay — with the money paid out straight to your own bank account. LessonLoop uses Stripe to move the money; you connect it once.
Where to set it up
Card payments live under Settings → Integrations → “Card payments”.
Good to know It is not under "Settings → Payments" or "Settings → Billing & subscription". "Billing & subscription" is where you manage your own LessonLoop plan — a different thing entirely.
Connect Stripe
- Open Settings (the gear in the left sidebar), then choose Integrations.
- On the Card payments card, select Connect card payments (if you’ve already started setting up, the button reads Finish setup).
- You’ll be taken to Stripe to confirm a few details about your business and the bank account you want payouts to land in. Stripe handles this securely — LessonLoop never sees your bank login.
- When you come back, the card payments status shows Active. You’re ready to take payments.
You can do the same step inside the guided Setup wizard — it appears as “Get paid by card”.
What parents see
Once Stripe is connected, every invoice you send gains a Pay button. Parents pay from the parent portal in a couple of taps — a secure card sheet on the web (with Apple Pay on an iPhone), or via the browser from the iOS app. The payment marks the invoice paid automatically and the money is paid out to your bank by Stripe on its usual schedule.
Turn on extra options (optional)
How parents can pay — allowing partial payments, offering payment plans (instalments), and which processors are enabled — is set separately under Settings → Billing & subscription → Online payments.
Already taking cash or bank transfers?
You don’t have to use card payments at all. You can record a cash, bank transfer or other payment by hand against any invoice — see Record a payment.
