Once your studio is set up, you can bring in the people who teach and help run it. Each person gets their own sign-in, sees only what their role allows, and a teacher gets a profile families can see. This is for schools and academies — solo plans run as a single person, so they don’t have a team area.
Where teachers live
Teachers are managed under the People group in the left sidebar.
| You want to | Where it lives |
|---|---|
| See and edit your teaching roster | People → Teachers |
| Invite people and set what they can do | People → Team & access |
| Manage rooms and venues | People → Locations |
The People page opens on a Teachers | Team & access control. Teachers is the roster — names, instruments, pay and availability. Team & access is where you invite people and choose their role, and it’s only shown to owners and admins.
On a solo plan? The People group only appears on school and academy plans. If you don't see it, you're on a solo plan, which is built for a single teacher — there's no separate team to invite.
Invite a teacher
- Go to People, then open Team & access (or, from the Teachers roster, select Invite a teacher).
- Select Invite, enter their name and email address, and pick a role (see below).
- Select Create invite.
That’s all the invite itself needs — name, email and role. Their teaching profile (instruments, a short bio, availability and pay or rate details) is filled in afterwards from the Teachers roster, once they appear there. Families and the timetable use this profile, so it’s worth completing.
Send the invite
Invites go out by email. The teacher receives a link to set their own password and finish their account — they don’t need an existing LessonLoop login. If email isn’t an option, you can copy the invite link and share it yourself.
An invited teacher gets a slimmer setup than a studio owner: they confirm their details and land straight in their day, rather than walking through the full studio wizard. Until they accept, the invite shows as pending under Team & access, where you can copy the link again or revoke it.
Choosing a role
A person’s role decides what they can see and do. LessonLoop has four:
- Owner — full control of the studio, including billing and the subscription. Usually you.
- Admin — runs the studio day to day, but not the studio’s own subscription.
- Finance — adds invoices, payments and reports to a role; the money side.
- Teacher — sees their own lessons, students and pay. The billing area is slimmed to “My pay & mileage”.
Pick the role that matches what the person actually does. You can change someone’s role later from Team & access, so it’s fine to start cautious and widen access as you go.
