The guided Setup wizard walks you through getting your studio ready — adding people, terms, rates, branding and card payments — without hunting through Settings. It’s the fastest way to go from a blank account to taking your first lesson and your first payment.
Where to find it
Setup opens from the Setup checklist card on your Today page. Work through the steps in any order; the wizard remembers your progress, so you can leave and come back.
Good to know The Setup card retires itself once you've completed the essentials, so your Today page stays clean. You can still reach every setting directly from Settings afterwards.
It adapts to how you teach
Setup is persona-routed — it only asks for what’s relevant to you:
- Solo teacher — skips teachers and locations and focuses on terms, rates, branding and getting paid.
- Studio or school owner — includes adding teachers and locations alongside the rest.
- Invited teacher — a short version covering just what you need to start teaching.
What the steps cover
| Step | What you’ll do |
|---|---|
| Add your team | Invite teachers so they can take their own registers. (Owners only.) |
| Add locations | Your teaching rooms or venues, used when booking lessons. (Owners only.) |
| Set your terms | Your academic term dates, so the calendar and billing line up. |
| Add rate cards | What you charge per lesson type, used to price invoices. |
| Add your branding | Your studio logo and colours, which appear on the parent portal and invoices. |
| Get paid by card | Connect Stripe so parents can pay invoices online. |
Where each of these lives later
If you’d rather set something up by hand, or change it after setup:
| Setting | Where it lives |
|---|---|
| Teachers & locations | People → Teachers / Locations (schools and academies) |
| Academic terms & branding | Settings → Organisation |
| Rate cards | Settings → Advanced |
| Card payments | Settings → Integrations → “Card payments” |
Getting paid by card
The “Get paid by card” step connects Stripe so every invoice gains a Pay button and payouts land in your own bank account. It’s the same connection you’ll find under Settings → Integrations — see Set up card payments for the full walk-through.
When you’ve added your team, set your terms and rates, and connected payments, you’re ready to book lessons and run your first invoice.
