Every term ends with the same question, asked twenty or two hundred times: is your child carrying on? The continuation round asks it for you, keeps every answer in one place, and tells you exactly who still hasn’t replied.
How a round starts
As a term draws to a close, a continuation round opens automatically for studios with continuation switched on. You don’t start it by hand — families are asked, and the answers collect for you.
Where the answers live
A continuation card appears on your Calendar’s attention panel while a round is open — that’s the way in (it isn’t a sidebar item).
The continuation screen shows the round at a glance:
- Continuing, Withdrawing and Pending counts
- The Deadline
- A per-family list of who has answered what
When the list is quiet, it says so plainly: A continuation round opens automatically as each term draws to a close — families are asked whether they’re carrying on, and the answers collect here.
Chase the stragglers
Select Send reminders to pending and everyone who hasn’t answered gets nudged — no picking through the list for names.
What a family sees
A parent gets the question by email and answers with one tap — no login needed. In their portal it’s a card with three choices:
- Yes, continuing
- Not continuing
- Changing details — for “yes, but can we move the day?”, with a note explaining what they’d like
Continuation vs the Term Planner
Two different jobs, and it’s worth keeping them straight:
- Continuation asks the families — the question, the answers, the chasing.
- The Term Planner books the timetable — once you know who’s staying, it rolls their lessons into the next term in one pass.
Ask first, book second.
What it runs on
Continuation is listed under Settings → Communications → Term continuation, and it works from your term dates — so the thing to keep accurate is Settings → Organisation → Academic terms. See set your terms and closure dates. Get the term dates right and the round opens itself at the right moment.
