Settings is its own world, reached from the Settings item in the left sidebar (or Profile in your avatar menu). Everything is organised into six categories, with a search box at the top — type something like currency, Stripe or delete my data and it jumps you straight to the right entry.
The six categories
| Category | What lives there |
|---|---|
| Profile | Your password · two-factor (2FA) · signed-in devices · your time zone · Appearance (light/dark theme) · your notification preferences |
| Organisation | Currency · VAT · branding (logo & colours) · academic terms · closure dates · make-up credit policy · booking & cancellation policy · org name & address |
| Billing & subscription | Online-payment options (partial pay, payment plans) · late fees · invoice settings (numbering, terms, footer) · bank transfer details · your own LessonLoop plan |
| Communications | Message templates · notification preferences (the dunning/reminder schedule) · WhatsApp messaging · your email domain · term continuation behaviour |
| Integrations | Stripe / card payments · Xero · Google Calendar · your AI assistant connector · API keys |
| Advanced | Rate cards · instruments · grade levels · audit log · GDPR export & delete · CSV data import |
A few homes worth memorising
- Card payments (Stripe) → Integrations. This is how you connect Stripe so parents can pay by card — see Set up card payments.
- Currency, VAT and branding → Organisation, alongside your academic terms, closures and make-up policy.
- Late fees and invoice settings → Billing & subscription (which is also where your own LessonLoop plan lives).
- The reminder/dunning schedule → Communications → Notification preferences (org-wide).
- Import students from a CSV → Advanced → Data import.
- Export or delete your data (GDPR) → Advanced.
Two easy mix-ups There is no "Payments" category — card payments sit under Integrations, and how parents pay sits under Billing & subscription. And there is no "Music" category — instruments and grade levels live in Advanced.
When you can’t remember the category
You don’t have to. Open Settings and use the search box at the top. It indexes every setting by name and synonym, so “Stripe”, “dark mode”, “VAT” or “delete my data” each land on the exact entry — no hunting through categories.
