Publish an open class

Updated 28 September 2026 · 2 min read

A theory class, a Saturday ensemble, a half-term workshop — group teaching fills faster when families can find it and book it themselves. Open classes gives a group series or a one-off event its own public listing, and takes the booking without you touching it.

Where it lives

Growth → Website → “Open classes”, on the same page as your booking page and widget.

Before you publish

The class has to exist first. Create the group series or the one-off event on your Calendar, and it becomes available to publish — see run group lessons. Nothing is published until you say so.

A class can start with nobody on it. On the Calendar, choose New lesson, pick Group, give it a Class name (for example “Christmas Choir”) and save it without adding any students — families fill it by booking.

Publish it

  1. Open Growth → Website and find Open classes.
  2. Choose Publish a class.
  3. Pick which class — the group series or event you want to advertise.
  4. Choose how families join:
    • Free trial — one session, no charge, to get people through the door.
    • Pay as you go — booked and paid session by session.
    • Full term upfront — the whole run, paid at the point of booking.
  5. Add the description families will read, and publish.

Each listing has its own on/off switch, so you can take a class off the page when it fills and put it back next term without rebuilding it.

Each class has its own link. In Growth → Website → Open classes, press Copy link on the class’s row and send it to families — whoever follows it lands on that class, ready to book. Copy link beside Copy widget snippet copies one link for all your classes. To show your classes on your own site, use Copy widget snippet and paste the snippet into the page where you want them to appear.

Links and the widget answer only while your booking page and your widget are both switched on. Until they are, the Open classes section says so where the buttons would be.

One widget per page: the snippet carries a filter, so a page about junior classes can show only those rather than everything you run.

Zero clicks for you A family books straight from the listing — no enquiry to answer, no place to hold by hand. It is the one part of the funnel that runs without staff involvement, which is exactly what you want from a class with twelve seats.
