Plenty of teaching doesn’t run to a clock. You visit a school on a Tuesday, you’re given a room, and the office sends children out one at a time — the running order is decided on the day. LessonLoop supports that directly: those lessons carry a date, school, teacher and length but no start time, and the calendar shows them as a single register rather than a stack of invented time slots.
What it looks like on the calendar
Untimed lessons for the same school, teacher and day group into one register block, shown in a Schools strip pinned above the timed grid — never floating in the hour-by-hour rows, because a made-up time shouldn’t read like a real one. Each block reads like Bell Farm — 14 children.
The strip appears in the day, 3-day and week views. In month and agenda views the same register shows without times.
Take the register
Select the block to open it. You’ll see the children as an ordered list — the running order — with the school, the date and the teacher in the header (a cover teacher shows there too).
For each child, tap one of Present, Absent, Late or Cancelled. Each tap saves on its own, so there’s no separate save step, and marking here is the same attendance record as anywhere else in LessonLoop — it feeds invoicing, make-up credits and payroll identically.
A child’s name links through to their profile, and there’s a notes affordance on each row if you need the full register page.
Change the running order
Some teachers keep a fixed order, some rotate it weekly, some collect children as and when. All three work without configuring anything, because the order is just a list you can rearrange.
Use the up/down controls on a child’s row to move them. When you’ve finished, select Save order (or Reset order to undo before saving). LessonLoop then asks where the new order applies:
- Just this day — other weeks keep their current order.
- This and future weeks — every later week with this register takes the new order.
Reordering is a scheduling change, so it’s available to owners, admins and schedulers.
Good to know Changing the order never messages anyone. Families are not told times for school registers — there aren't any — so reordering is silent housekeeping between you and the school.
What parents see
A parent looking at their child’s schedule sees the school day without a time, described as an at-school entry for that school. No invented start time is ever shown to a family.
Bringing an existing timetable in
If your school work already lives in another system, the timetable importer brings it across as untimed lessons where the source has no times — see import your students from a spreadsheet for the data side, and your studio’s setup checklist for the schedule import step.
Mixing both Timed lessons are untouched by any of this. A studio can run private lessons on the clock and school registers without times, side by side, on the same calendar.
