Taking the register is how you record who turned up to each lesson. It’s a quick, tap-as-you-go page you open from your Calendar — mark everyone in seconds, jot any notes, and close out the day.
Open the register
The register is its own page (it isn’t a sidebar item). You reach it from either:
| From | How |
|---|---|
| Calendar | The “Take attendance” button. |
| Today | The “needs attendance” tile, or any attendance reminder. |
It opens for the day you’re looking at, listing each scheduled lesson with the student’s name.
Mark each lesson
For every lesson, tap to set the outcome:
- Present — the student attended as normal.
- Absent — the student didn’t come. (You can turn an absence into a make-up afterwards.)
- Late — the student arrived late but attended.
- Cancelled — the lesson didn’t run.
You can move through the whole list quickly; each tap saves on its own, so there’s no separate “save” step.
Add a note to a lesson
Tap a student’s row to add a note without leaving the register. Choose who can see it:
- Shared — visible to the parent (good for “great progress on scales today”).
- Private — staff only (good for internal reminders).
Good to know Shared notes appear to parents in the parent portal, so keep anything sensitive marked Private.
Close out the day
When you’ve dealt with the lessons that need a decision, use Mark Day Complete. This closes out the day’s remaining scheduled lessons in one go, so nothing is left hanging in your attendance backlog. Anything you marked by hand keeps the outcome you gave it.
If you don’t finish a day, that’s fine — unmarked lessons stay waiting for you, and Today will keep reminding you until the register is done.
