The 60-second verdict

A US enterprise platform vs a UK music-school tool.

Starting price
£15/mo vs $98/mo

Opus1’s cheapest tier is $98/month (≈£76), capped at 200 students. LessonLoop starts at £15, and School — unlimited teachers — is a flat £39 (≈$50).

AI
Built in vs US-only add-on

Opus1’s AI lives in “Opus1 Voice”, an $89/mo phone add-on that is explicitly unavailable to UK customers. LoopAssist is in every LessonLoop plan, working in the product itself.

UK fit
GBP, VAT, terms vs USD-only

Opus1 bills in USD with no published VAT handling; UK SMS “requires consultation”. LessonLoop is GBP-native with VAT-aware invoicing and UK term dates out of the box.

What Opus1 does that LessonLoop does not

Opus1’s own site describes tiers up to 1,000 active students, Apple Pay checkout, and SMS and Voice add-ons. LessonLoop has no SMS channel and no voice product. Its published plans do not cap active students at all, and both of its prices are on the page rather than behind a demo.

Opus1 pricing in 2026

Their entry price is our top tier — doubled. Opus1 publishes one price: $98 a month, for up to 200 active students. Above that the page says Book a Demo, so the slider stops where their published price does.

Opus1 US list pricing, read from opus1.io/pricing on 4 September 2026. The page publishes exactly one figure — “packages starting at just $98 per month” — and every tier button reads Book a Demo. Starter is capped at 200 active students and 50 services; Growth (500) and Ultimate (1,000) publish caps but no price, so this comparison stops at 200 students rather than quoting a number they no longer show. Opus1 Plus, SMS and Voice are paid add-ons whose prices are not published. GBP conversion approximate at ~$1 = £0.78, for comparison only. LessonLoop School £39/mo, unlimited pupils and teacher accounts, no cap of any kind.

Questions

Straight answers.

What is Opus1 pricing in 2026?
Their pricing page publishes one figure — “packages starting at just $98 per month” — and three named tiers: Starter up to 200 active students and 50 services, Growth up to 500 students, Ultimate up to 1,000. Only the starting price is published; the rest routes to Book a Demo. Month to month, no contract, with Plus, SMS and Voice sold as add-ons whose prices are not listed. Priced in US dollars. Checked 4 September 2026.
What are the alternatives to Opus1 for a UK school?
LessonLoop at £39 a month with unlimited teacher accounts, pupils, locations and rooms, priced and billed in GBP. MyMusicStaff at $16.95 plus $4.95 per teacher and Teachworks from $16.49 plus $0.320 per student lesson, both in US dollars. My Music Lessons at £9.95 plus £2.95 per teacher, in GBP. Every one of those is priced from its own page on 4 September 2026 in the roundup, with a head-to-head page for each.
Is LessonLoop really that much cheaper?
Yes, structurally. Their floor is $98/mo (≈£76) capped at 200 students. Our School tier is £39/mo with no student cap and no teacher cap. Their add-ons (CRM, SMS, Voice) stack on top of their base price; we don’t sell feature add-ons at all.
What does Opus1 have that LessonLoop doesn’t?
A US phone system with AI call coaching (US-only), dance/performing-arts programme features, and Series-B money. If you need those, it’s the right call. For UK music-school admin — scheduling, billing, parents, payroll, Xero — you’re paying enterprise prices for things you won’t use.
Can I import my Opus1 data?
Yes — export your pupils, families and lesson history as CSV and we’ll map and import it for you, free, on every plan.
